Martha Ackerman is an American designer, artist, and author.

Martha Ackerman is the Co-author, along with fine artist Stephanie Segel, of Create: New Beginnings ® a restorative art program designed for women everywhere. Create: New Beginnings is a 10-part series designed to unpack topics such as shame, forgiveness, and self-doubt in a safe environment, using art as the tool to facilitate discussion and help women to heal. Astonishingly, Create: New Beginnings was first developed for women in prison.

Martha started her career as a fashion model with Ford Modeling Agency living in the heart of New York City, where Martha honed an eye for aesthetics and design. She developed her own line of handmade fine jewelry. Her jewelry has been featured in Four Seasons Resorts and many high end specialty boutiques across America.

Martha’s philanthropic passion for helping women and children began many years ago. In particular with children of the incarcerated, women who live in prison, and women who have experienced trauma.

Martha divides her time between NYC and South Carolina. With her husband James, she is the mother of two adult children, Holden and Lily.
